
A separatist militant group in southwest Pakistan claimed on May 4 that five police officials had been taken prisoner in an assault on a prison vehicle.
A policeman official said that between 30 and 40 militants scurried immediately across Balochistan province to intercept a prison van being transported by a police group.
A senior officers established in the area, who was not authorized to speak to the media, told AFP on Sunday that” the prisoners were afterwards released, but five officers have been kidnapped.”
He claimed that a rescue function was being conducted.  ,
Government buildings and a lender in the area were likewise set on fire by the attackers.
Two attackers were killed by security forces, according to a senior government official who declined to be identified.  ,
In the mineral-rich western province bordering Afghanistan and Iran, Pakistan has been fighting a dissident rebellion for decades. There, insurgents target state forces, foreigners, and non-locals.
The most effective BLA organization in the area, the Baloch Liberation Army, led the abuse in the Kalat region.
Energy projects that have recently received foreign funding, most importantly from China, have previously been targeted by the BLA.
In a three-day battle in March, the party seized a train, kidnapped lots of passengers, and killed off-duty security personnel.
