Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong both congratulated their election victories on Sunday ( May 4 ) and Prabowo Subianto, president of Indonesia.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Anwar praised the “enduring ties” between the two countries, while also expressing his “warmest congratulations” to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong for leading the People’s Action Party ( PAP ) to victory in Singapore’s General Election.  ,  ,
The Workers ‘ Party ( WP ) faced opposition challenges and won 87 out of 97 seats, or almost 90 % of the seats, without giving up any ground to its rivals. The PAP won a stunning victory and was able to win back control of the government.  ,
The head of Malaysia also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Wong and his team for” continuing success as you carry out theresponsibilities of authority in this new term.”
Mr. Anwar remarked that Malaysia and Singapore’s “prosperity and protection” are unrelated.
He asserted that” we are destined by enduring relationships of kith and kin as well as geographical.” Our two places are cultivating a habit of deep engagement at all levels as we navigate significant difficulties to world order and international trade as we look to the future.
He continued,” with faith and shared purpose,” that both countries have the potential to make the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone a shining instance of what neighboring nations can accomplish.
In the years to come, he said,” We look forward to deepening this particular marriage.”
Mr. Wong’s decisive victory, according to Mr. Prabowo, “reflects the confidence and trust in Singaporeans in his and the PAP’s powerful leadership.”  ,
