In the Muang area of this southwestern province, officials detained three people in their 20s for supposedly hosting online soccer gambling, primarily attracting fresh gamblers.
Theeroot Supawibulpol, government of Surat Thani, said the detention took place on Saturday after police and operational officials discovered that many young people were drawn to the two playing districts. Authorities seize 38 computers and impase them.
Authorities in tambon Bang Kung apprehended Oranit Chaniwet, 20, and Chanin Klangnarong, 26, in one arrest in a two-story tower. There, authorities discovered 16 computers, 53 receipts for payment, and 35 to 660 ringgit in money.
Patcharin Sapprasert, 26, was detained at another location along with 250 pay slips, 190 baht in cash, and 16 servers, a photocopier, and 250 identification documents.
Theeroot, the governor of Surat Thani, stated that he had ordered nearby authorities to take action to really combat like gambling dens where younger people bought kratom juice and gambled.
He claimed that such illegal corporations had a significant impact on young people’s lives, and that criminals frequently retreated from their criminal activities after being detained.
In order to protect young people, the government stated that he had asked prosecutors to file major charges against these betting hosts.
