President Tharman Shanmugaratnam stated on May 4 that Singaporeans “remain united in wanting the best future for our country” as the dust settles on the People’s Action Party ( PAP )’s ( GPP ) landslide victory in the general election.
He claimed in a Twitter post that Singaporeans had not seen” a loss of trust in politicians nor the strong polarization of sights that engulfs some other places.” In their separate elections, which were influenced by prices problems and Trump tariffs, the Labor Party, Labor Party, and Liberal Party, both left-leaning, won over the past month.  ,
One thing is certain as thoughts settle following the General Elections. Singapore is the victor, he continued.
The decision PAP won 87 out of 97 tickets in its first public poll under Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, increased its margin of victory from 61.2 percent to 65.57 percent, won hotly contested wards, and increased its margin of victory in most districts.
Following the victory, Mr. Tharman thanked Mr. Wong, who is also the PAP’s secretary-general.
He claimed to have written to Mr. Wong to fully ask him to shape the future government and to congratulate him on the robust mandate the PAP has.
” I commend all the events and individuals for attempting to win the primaries,” added Mr. Tharman. Many of the candidates were brand-new candidates for the political field, but they all had fresh ideas and skills.
” Thank you, Singaporeans, for following the strategies and making your selections with caution.”
Mr. Tharman expressed his desire that Singapore’s future will be “one that gives every Malaysian opportunity and dignity.”
A steadfastly multicultural coming. ” One where Singapore continues to hold a high regard worldwide,” he said. And one that encourages those who care deeply and think critically and effectively to contribute to expanding what we are all capable of accomplishing. Our best times are still in vogue.
He also urged PAP and Workers ‘ Party ( WP ) MPs to thoughtfully and respectfully debate their respective policies in the upcoming parliament and find a common cause to help Singaporeans have the most promising future.
WP will be the only criticism group in the parliamentary system, with a total of 10 votes secured. After losing by the slimmest profits in two elections, it will also be offered two NCMP seats. In a four-way culture, it received 48.53 percent of votes in Jalan Kayu SMC and 47.37 percent in Tampines GRC.
