Govt to host Coronation Day gala

On the occasion of Coronation Day, which is celebrated annually on May 4, the government may host the Samosorn Sanibat dinner Sunday evening in honor of His Majesty the King.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra does preside over the joyous occasion at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House, according to a spokesman for the government, Jirayu Houngsub, who confirmed on Saturday that the spokesman would speak at 7 p.m. The celebration will be broadcast live on federal radio and television.

Prior to the banquet, the prime minister does pay tribute to former rulers at Prasat Phra Thepbidon and Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram in the Grand Palace. He will even attend the royal Crown Festival at 10am at the Amarindra Vinijaya Throne Hall, which is located in the Grand Palace.

Royal Councillors, former prime ministers, case members, diplomats, top officials, and leaders from diverse industries were among the distinguished guests at the gala. As part of the global gift, the general public is encouraged to join in presenting the King with gifts.
