GE2025: In final rallies, opposition parties call on Singapore electorate to vote with hope not ‘fear’

WP” MUST FIGHT FOR EVERY SINGLE VOTE”

At a roughly three-hour-long march on Thursday night at Anderson Serangoon Junior College, 13 WP candidates made their speeches. Residents were urged to foundation their votes on wish rather than fear by party head Sylvia Lim, a member for Aljunied GRC.

So now, let’s make a claim to Singapore that when we vote on Saturday, we may vote not out of concern but with faith and hope for the future that we deserve, that years from now we can happily say that we stood up and worked for Singapore as we pass the stick to the next generation, not just to each other, ” she said.

Next, Mr. Singh made his speech by centering his remarks on what he called “reality checks ” on five statements made by the PAP during their plan route, the first of which was Mr. Wong’s claim that choosing to support the opposition weakens the authorities in global negotiations.

The WP chief noted that the PAP would still have 71 out of 97 seats, or about 73 %, even if every WP candidate in this election was voted into congress.

Mr. Singh questioned whether the PAP really believed that foreign leaders from democratic countries will think to themselves,” Oh, the Singapore Prime Minister only won 73 % of the seats, so awful! He may have attended a terrible university! ’?

For 73 % of the seats in parliament, foreign officials would give their right and left paws, let me tell you. ”

Mr. Singh finally addressed Mr. Wong’s claim that the PAP government may struggle to run the country as a result of having more opposition MPs in parliament.

In this election, according to Mr. Singh, the PAP will “win 65 or more chairs effortlessly.” He then claimed that no PAP candidates had ever wanted to discuss significant national issues like the Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) hike in the midst of a “global inflation storm” during the rallies.

Mr. Singh also criticized Mr. Wong for saying that the criticism was still in power.

Make no mistake, the PAP never gives up, according to Mr. Singh, adding that” there are never any healthy tickets for the opposition”.

“Please do not believe that the Workers ‘ Party is healthy in any way in Aljunied, Hougang, or Sengkang.” In 2015, Aljunied almost lost his mind, he claimed. The WP group held on to the GRC with 50 that time. 96 % of the vote was cast in opposition to a PAP staff, who received 49. 04 per share.

We must fight for every voting. Every voting is valuable to the Workers ‘ Party, he said.

The call for citizens to not give the opposition a free pass and to use the exact criteria when evaluating their candidates was the last place Mr. Singh sought to refute.

Since it was established in 1988, Mr. Singh claimed that the GRC program has protected “dozens of fresh PAP MPs.”

A couple PAP candidates have not worked the floor before just for this election. Citizens don’t understand them, but they’re expected to vote for them simply because they are in a GRC with an anchor minister, according to the WP secretary-general.

That is what I refer to as a complimentary go. ”
