Mr. Neo held the position of major-general in the Singapore Armed Forces before taking up his previous position of chief of army for almost three decades. He became the first army officer to take over the position.
The Tampines GRC member spearheaded the Army 2040 change initiative, which focused on bringing fresh inter-service integration, technology adoption, workforce development, and new warfighting concepts to the SAF.  ,
Following the COVID-19 crisis, Mr. Neo also oversaw the resumption of extensive instruction and live-firing exercises, and he also oversaw functions, including the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
He even oversaw SAF’s involvement in Singapore’s federal COVID-19 response.
At Monday’s midday protest, Mr. Neo said,” This Doc government made sure every Singaporean had come back to Singapore, whether they had COVID or not, when we were in the deepest, deepest hours of COVID, when we had no idea how significant this condition was,” he said.
And this was a topic that was not even brought up in the PM Lawrence Wong-led multi-ministry work pressure. It was a given. All Singaporeans did return home, whether or not they do, and we did it. This party puts motion first, putting Singaporeans at the forefront.
Additionally, Mr. Neo added that younger people are selective and intelligent, and are concerned about the country’s future.
