
Lee MAI- A volunteer who had spent a longer time fighting wildfires was killed when his motorcycle veered off a hills on Sunday evening.
Manit Sawansu, 62, worked as a warrior for the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation. He had been battling wildfires in a Samoeng area of the Khun Khan National Park.
According to Thaweewat Daengmanee, the captain of Khun Khan National Park, he was one of the 26 people who were battling the flames on Sunday from 1.30pm to around 8pm in the Kong Khak Luang community in tambon Samoeng Tai.
Around 8:30 p.m., two meters down the slope off the side of the road, Mr. Thaweewat said, other workers who were returning home discovered his body and bicycle.  ,
He claimed that Manit was old and probably worn out by the demands of the day, which could have contributed to the incident.  ,
His body was taken to Samoeng Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine his death’s reason.
” This is yet another lost, a person who gave his life to help protect the country’s natural tools,” he said.  ,
