Beginning in the second half of this year, the State Railway of Thailand will start offering a complimentary Wi-Fi support on long-haul trains to the North, Northeast, and South.
Veeris Ammarapala, the SRT government, claimed the decision to offer a free WiFi services was made in response to complaints from passengers that they lost access to the internet while traveling on trains through forests and mountainous terrain, which prevented them from accessing the news or track information.
On the routes Bangkok-Chiang Mai ( North ), Bangkok-Nong Khai ( North ), Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani ( Northeast ), and Hat Yai ( South ), he claimed wi-fi would initially be accessible in first and second class of Special Express trains.
According to Mr. Veeris, the complimentary wi-fi support may expand to 146 different air-conditioned trains in the upcoming year.
