
On the day of its 80th anniversary, Democratic Party chief Chalermchai Sri-on emphasized the need for the party to accept change.

Mr. Chalermchai emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for the party’s younger members, and he hoped more young people may visit and work alongside them.
He said the Democrat Party had carefully consider its position following conversations with party executives and MPs regarding the leisure complex act, which appears to be dividing the government coalition pushing it.
He also pledged to work closely with party members to resurrect the Democrats ‘ previous electoral success, showing unwavering resolve.
The Democrat Party’s final and most obvious objective is for it to come back strong, he said.
Jurin Laksanawisit resigned as party chief in December 2023 after the party won less than half the seats it had previously won.
