The Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry ( MITI ) is looking into allegations that it” stolen” a creative agency’s concept for the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka without receiving a fair share of credit or compensation.  ,
In a quick statement on Saturday ( April 26 ), MITI stated that it is aware of the allegations that were widely shared online following a popular Instagram post by user Fey Ilyas.  ,
According to local news channel Malay Mail, the ministry was cited as saying that” MIT I is currently conducting a thorough investigation to gather and investigate all pertinent information regarding the allegations made by individuals on social media.”  ,
” We take this matter quite seriously and supply all of our constitutional right.” In all of its dealings, MITI continues to uphold the highest standards of morality and compliance. If and when needed, we may take the necessary legal steps, it continued.  ,
However, the affirmation did not identify the personal or business whose name was being used.
Fey claimed that Fey had made the allegations after the government had “unwarranted or compensated” Fey by using the Malaysia Pavilion’s idea, theme, narrative, and structural direction.  ,
According to Fey, the ministry hired his creative consulting firm, Current Media Group ( CMG), in 2022 to create the idea for Malaysia’s participation in Expo 2025.  ,
A sizable world show that aims to highlight the accomplishments of all countries is Expo 2025. From April 13 to October 13, the show will be held in Osaka, Japan, for six weeks.
Fey added that his crew had contributed to the development of the base of Malaysia’s presence at the world expo, including bringing in world-class partners, and ensuring approvals.  ,
Yet being given the proper appreciation for a project of this size would have helped us, Fey wrote on Instagram, “build our reputation and opened new opportunities” as a small company.  ,
As of Saturday, the post had more than 6, 000 memes and over 24, 100 wants.  ,
He also claimed that he had met with Trade Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz to discuss the situation immediately, arguing that his organization was advised to” be silent” or risk losing out on opportunities in the future.
