The State Audit Office ( SAO ) has released a statement outlining the decision to reduce the thickness of the elevator shafts at its new 30-story building, which is said to have caused the structure’s collapse during an earthquake.
The shaft’s surfaces were reduced in width to meet the appropriate creating standards for the internal architecture, according to the declaration.
The SAO stated in the declaration that China Railway No. 1 and Italian-Thai Development Plc, a joint venture, are ITD-CREC, a joint enterprise. The contract to build the tower was awarded to 10 Thailand Co.
The SAO contracted PKW joint venture to manage the job. The building was designed by a joint venture between Meinhardt ( Thailand ) and Forum Architect Co.
The contractor’s investigation revealed that the length of the hall may be shortened by the size of the rooms in addition to different design elements, which might be in violation of a governmental law imposed by the Interior Ministry and the Building Control Act.
The company was prompted by this to seek advice from the building designer and the building supervisor.
The SAO suggested that the design of the shaft’s windows near the hall been reduced from 30cm to 25cm with addition of metal forces.
The officer and the artist independently verified the change, and the contractor received the revised blueprint. According to the speech, the State Audit Commission and the Auditor-General both supported the alter.
Justice Minister Tawee Sodsong recently claimed that the decision to reduce the shaft walls might have caused the building to collapse.
Because the shaft walls are significantly thinner than those in similar buildings, according to Pol Col Tawee, who is looking into the safety of the investigation.
He claimed that typical wall thickness should be about 60 centimeters wet, but the SAO building’s walls were just 25 cm thick.
A team of engineers may do a thorough research to ascertain whether this contributed to the collapse of the structure, according to Pol Col Tawee.
He said the sensor will look at the initial plans for the structure.
As China Railway No. 1 as the company for the project. Chinese authorities have been instrumental in the handling of the disaster because 10 ( Thailand ) is a subsidiary of a Chinese state-owned company.
