Health Minister Ong Ye Kung stated at an election rally on Thursday ( Apr 24 ) that Dr. Chee Soon Juan needs to provide a better explanation of why he “abandoned Bukit Batok to come to Sembawang West.
The anchor minister for the Sembawang Group Representation Constituency ( GRC ) stated that if the Singapore Democratic Party ( SDP ) chief became an MP for the adjacent Sembawang West single-seat ward, he would not be able to properly care for residents there.
I am unable to do that if citizens vote for Dr. Chee Quickly Juan and he becomes the MP. Because he’s never supposed to work with me, I won’t be able to do that. His career is to challenge me, and his work is to challenge the government, according to Mr. Ong, who is the group’s associate manager.
