In the upcoming General Election, the People’s Action Party ( PAP ), the People’s Alliance for Reform ( PAR ), and the Singapore People’s Party ( SPP ) will square off in a three-cornered fight in Potong Pasir SMC.
It was confirmed that PAP’s Alex Yeo will face PAR secretary-general Lim Tean and SPP party treasurer Williamson Lee after nomination papers were submitted to Kong Hwa School on Wednesday ( Apr 23 ).
Sitoh Yih Pin, 61, the previous MP, made the announcement in an Instagram blog soon after the election process was over at lunch.
Since 2011, he has won three terms in Potong Pasir, putting an end to the opponent’s 27-year rule there.
In the most recent Electoral Boundaries Review Committee record, Potong Pasir SMC moved two districts to Marine Parade GRC. This adjustment was made in response to the rapid population growth brought on by recent advances in Bidadari.  ,
