Ms. Poh was a member of the PAP team in Sembawang GRC, which received 67.29 percent of the votes in the 2020 election when the National Solidarity Party ( NSO ) won.  ,
She spoke in support of the Sembawang West department, which was designated an SMC following a preliminary democratic process earlier this year.
Dr. Chee vying for Bukit Batok SMC in 2020 against Murali Pillai of the PAP, but he lost with 45.2 % of the vote.  ,
The NSP had recently stated that it would phase aside and refrain from competing in Sembawang West SMC.  ,
According to the most recent Electoral Boundaries Review Committee report, the newly created constituency will include 24, 153 citizens.
