At the May 3 General Election, the People’s Action Party ( PAP ) team led by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will square off against the Singapore Democratic Party ( SDP ) in Singapore.
Given that both sides had already introduced their tiles, there were no major surprises for the hospital on Nomination Day. The exact two events have been feuding in the district since it was founded in 2015.
On Wednesday ( Apr 23 ), candidates from both parties successfully submitted their nomination papers to Jurong-Pioneer Junior College.
The PAP stone has not changed from the five teams that were put together in the previous vote: Mr. Wong, who is also the PAP’s secretary-general, Mr. Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State for Defence and Manpower, Mr. Alex Yam, and Ms. Hany Soh.
Jufri Salim, the leader of other media site Wake Up Singapore Ariffin Sha, Alec Tok, the director of opera, and Dr. Gigene Wong are among those who are challenging them.
WHAT THE SUBSIDIATES SAID
Each group of prospects was given three hours to address their supporters after being introduced.
First, Mr. Tok noted that SDP has fought the GRC three times in a row and that” we are available.”
Ready to lead a town council with the knowledge we’ve acquired over the years, ready to carry your ideas into legislature, and ready to stand as a front-runner for a more just, sympathetic, and humanitarian Singapore, he said.
” We have developed along Singaporeans, improving, advancing, and becoming wiser.” The time has come to cast your vote for the SDP.
Mr. Jufri wrapped up his party’s remarks with a Malay pantun ( a form of poetry ) that urged voters to consider their choices before casting their ballots.
Get the modify, not wait for change. We want to prosper, not just to survive,” he declared in English.
Mr. Wong started off the PAP speeches with the concept of familiarity.
He said,” We have walked this journey with you since the GRC was formed,” adding that he had also asked voters to give his team the chance to continue serving.
There is a lot at stake in this vote because we are in a changed earth with turmoil all around. Choose voting for the PAP, he said, because your future and that of your children’s will depend on it.
Next, Mr. Zaqy spoke again, reiterating Mr. Wong’s communication regarding Singapore’s political concerns.
” Control matters as Singapore faces turmoil. Who we choose to guide us through is important. Give us your mission, and help us ensure that Singapore’s and your country’s futures are brighter together.
THE MARSILING-YEW TEE Prospects
Since Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC was founded in 2015, Mr. Wong and Mr. Yam have been partners with it.  ,
After Madam Halimah Yacob left in 2017 to run for president, Mr. Zaqy started working in the Marsiling-Yew Tee district as a local director. He was a Chua Chu Kang GRC MP from 2011.  ,
In addition to Ms Soh, who was making her election album, Mr. Zaqy was fielded there in the following 2020 General Election.
This time, no SDP candidates have been fielded in Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC.
Mr. Jufri is making his political album, according to SDP main Chee Quickly Juan, who calls him “one of the stalwarts” of the celebration.  ,
Mr. Ariffin, who was the SPP’s associate secretary-general before he officially resigned in 2020, is also running in a public vote for the first time.  ,
The other two team members have previous knowledge.
Mr. Tok ran for SDP in Bukit Panjang in the 2011 general election, but he also served on the team’s Red Dot United ( RDU) in Jurong in the 2020 election.
In the 2020 election, Dr. Wong ran for the Progress Singapore Party ( PSP) candidate in Hong Kah North Single Member Constituency ( SMC).
One of the only five GRCs in this election’s history did not change its barrier. Marsiling-Yew Tee was one of the only five. It has 119, 352 citizens.
With 63.18 % of the vote in the previous general election, the PAP group won.
