A wooden structure on the front lawn of the lodge complex was destroyed by fire. It underwent some renovations.

The Dhara Dhevi Hotel was constructed in 2002 with a expenditure of more than 3 billion ringgit. It opened in 2004, boasting 123 resort rooms.
Despite the criticism of some academics, the lodge was built to resemble the traditional site and history of the old Lanna kingdom.
For advice on hotel management, workers training, selling, and public relations, it was placed under the control of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group for 15 years.
The hotel has experienced a number of financial difficulties since its launch, which has prompted it to look for investors. The Inter Far East Energy Corporation ( IFEC ) acquired the hotel in 2015 as the largest shareholder.
However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was forced to announce its temporary closure.
Due to liability issues, the hotel had insufficient funds to pay the salaries of more than 300 of its employees as well as utility bills, which totaled millions of baht per month.
The hotel submitted a petition for a proposed rehabilitation plan in June 2020, but the Appeal Court rejected it, leading to the hotel’s dismissal and bankruptcy.
