Man who allegedly attacked police officers in Hougang while naked to be charged in court

A 22-year-old man will face a charge in Singapore on Saturday ( Apr 19 ) with voluntarily injuring police officers with a dangerous weapon.

The person, who was naked, supposedly slashed another man on Thursday before being subdued and detained by the government. &nbsp,

Around 1.10pm, the police&nbsp reported that they had received a number of help calls along Hougang Avenue 8 near Blocks 676 and 677.

Members of the public had reported witnessing a shirtless man allegedly causing damage to cars in the open car area.

According to preliminary investigations, the 22-year-old allegedly attacked a 30-year-old man with a blade after damaging a parked car, according to a police release on Friday.

Therefore, according to him, he used a wooden plank allegedly from Hougang Avenue 4 to harm a static vehicle.

When the officers arrived at the scene, the 22-year-old person allegedly attacked them with the wooden plank as they attempted to apprehend him.

The police said that “necessary force was used to conquer him,” adding that three officers suffered slight wounds. &nbsp,

The 30-year-old gentleman was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital after suffering injuries to his shoulder.

A person who is found guilty of deliberately injuring someone with dangerous weapons could receive a sentence of up to seven years, a fine, punishment, or any mixture of these penalties.
