
During this year’s Songkran festival, more than 570, 000 people took trains to their home provinces, according to the State Railway of Thailand ( SRT ).
No people were left stranded at coach stations across the nation during the holiday season, according to SRT government Veeris Ammarapala on Friday.
He claimed that some people took the train to Bangkok on Friday.
To support the rising number of passengers during the Thai New Year’s holiday, the SRT increased cars on all roads and added 34 unique train services for the north, northeast, and southern routes.
A full of 575, 847 people traveled by train over the past seven weeks. There were 279, 647 people leaving, and 6, 325 of those using more train service. However, 284, 348 people arrived, with 5, 527 using additional services.
The southern route saw the highest number of passengers with 202, 961, followed by the northeastern route ( 154, 925 passengers ), the northern route ( 105, 033 ), the eastern route ( 65, 954), Mahachai route ( 39, 296 ) and Mae Klong route (7, 705 ), said the SRT governor.  ,
