The Singapore United Party ( SUP) has revealed five possible candidates who will likely face Ang Mo Kio GRC in the upcoming general election.

They are business Vincent Ng, party president Ridhuan Chandran, group manager Noraini Yunus, group secretary-general Andy Zhu Laicheng, and party secretary-general Vincent Ng.

Mr. Zhu gave the potential candidates a press introduction at the Kebun Baru Food Centre in Ang Mo Kio on Thursday night ( Apr 17 ).

He stated: “SUP is committed to promoting a more simply and equal Singapore. We are dedicated to collaborating nonstop with the ruling party to accomplish these objectives. ”

The group held a press conference without asking any questions and referred to” an essential task on hand” as the team members.

For the past three elections, Mr. Zhu, who was the former Republican Party ( RP ) chairman, was fielded under its banner.

In what is shaping up to be a three-cornered fight, the five-member team could face off against the incumbent People’s Action Party ( PAP ) and the People’s Power Party ( PPP ) on Nomination Day, which will be held on April 23.

PPP leader Goh Meng Seng announced his party’s intentions to face off against Ang Mo Kio GRC in the forthcoming elections on April 5. William Lim, the team’s treasurer, may serve as their leader, with different individuals set to be announced at a later time.

Mr. Goh claimed that the PPP had chosen to run in the district because its manifesto criticizes what he called the “mismanagement ” of population policies under Mr. Lee over the past 20 years.

Mr. Zhu reiterated on Thursday that the SUP had once more spoken to the PPP staff about avoiding a three-cornered duel, but that the two opposition events have not reached a resolution.

With 161,235 citizens, Ang Mo Kio GRC has the largest political sector.
