Platform door falls onto track at Braddell MRT station, causing delays on the North-South Line

After a platform screen door at the Braddell MRT station slipped onto the track, commuters on the North-South Line were advised to add 15 minutes to their travel time on Wednesday ( Apr 16 ).

Around 11.15 am, the lock had slammed onto the north-bound record of the line, according to a SMRT Facebook post on Wednesday.

As a health protection, it added that it had cordoned off the affected system. Our employees promptly arrived on the scene, and momentum power was disabled to speed up recovery efforts.

On the North-South Line, travellers were warned to expect an extra 15 minutes of vacation time even though coach services were still running in both directions. Between Bishan and Toa Payoh, both trains operated in both information.

Additionally, there were no cost-free normal buses traveling from Toa Payoh to Jurong East between Bishan and Bishan.

After its workers and technicians worked to resolve the issue, SMRT announced in an upgrade at 12.40pm that regular coach services had resumed and that free bus services had been discontinued.
