
Akapol Sorasuchart, a former Democrat legislator, passed away on Tuesday at Bumrungrad Hospital at the age of 65.
Past Democrat MP Thepthai Senpong, who expressed his condolences to Akapol’s home in a Facebook post, said that he passed away peacefully after being treated for a injury for almost a month.
Born in Bangkok on October 22, 1959, Akapol received a bachelor’s degree in business executive from Worksop College in the UK, a master’s degree in foreign politicians from Nottingham, and a doctorate from the University of London.
Akapol was elected as an MP in Bangkok in 1992 after beginning his political job with the Democratic Party. He became a party-list MP in 2001.
He previously held the positions of assistant secretary-general to the excellent minister for political interests and as a government official under the Chuan Leekpai management. He afterwards joined the Mahachon Party, where he was its deputy president and chairman of the group’s Bangkok vote campaign. Additionally, he presided over the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
The service will take place on Wednesday at Wat That Thong in Bangkok, and it will be followed by a 4pm bath. A royally sponsored death is scheduled for April 27 at 5 p.m. and companies will proceed from April 17 to April 22 at 7 p.m.
