In the newly established Jurong Central single-seat ward for the upcoming General Election, the ruling People’s Action Party ( PAP ) will field Mr. Xie Yao Quan as its candidate.
Following the most recent revision of Singapore’s electoral boundaries, the Jurong Central ward, which has 29, 620 voters, is one of six new Single Member Constituencies ( SMCs ).  ,
The party’s announcement on Monday ( Apr 14 ) occurred during the unveiling of its candidates for Jurong Central SMC and the nearby Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC.
Mr. Xie has been in the position since making his political debut in 2020 as the MP for the Jurong Central section of the current Jurong GRC. For the past five decades, he has also presided over the Jurong-Clementi Town Council.
At the press conference, he said,” In these five decades, I’ve walked the earth, listened to people, and put my heart into everything I’ve done to provide people.”
