GE2025: PAR calls for free education, school meals and healthcare for all Singaporean children

Debate ARE OPEN.

Additionally, Mr. Lim confirmed on Sunday that the PAR will run in Tanjong Pagar GRC and Jalan Besar Group Representation Constituency ( GRC ).

These are the two GRCs that we will be completely competitive in this round, he said. &nbsp,

In the 2020 General Election, Peoples Voice ( PV), one of three parties affiliated with the PAR, along with the Reform Party and the Democratic Progressive Party, lost to the PAP.

He added that PV had been active in Tanjong Pagar GRC since 2018 but that it had “ceded” to the Progress Singapore Party ( PSP) in 2020. PAP received 36 % of the vote, compared to PSP, who received 39 %.

He cited Single Member Constituencies ( SMCs ) as a “absolutely unchanged” outcome for PAR’s election campaigns in Potong Pasir, Mountbatten, Radin Mas, Queenstown, and Yio Chu Kang. &nbsp,

Despite an appeal from the Singapore People’s Party ( SPP ) to avoid a three-cornered fight, Mr. Lim reiterated last month that the alliance would contest in Potong Pasir SMC, &nbsp. &nbsp,

Given that criticism veteran and former party leader Chiam See Tong had been in the seat for 27 years, SPP had previously stated that it would work in Potong Pasir, a well-known battleground.

When questioned about the three additional SMCs that the empire had recently announced it would be contesting in, including Jalan Kayu, Kebun Bahru, and Marymount, Mr. Lim said he was opened to debate with various opposition parties. &nbsp,

PSP announced on Saturday that it would compete in the Pioneer, Marymount, and Kebun Baru SMCs. Mr. Lim stated that he was open to discussion with PSP Secretary-General Leong Mun Wai about which group may represent in Kebun Baru and Marymount. &nbsp,

For Jalan Kayu, one of six new SMCs, he noted that Red Dot United ( RDU) had introduced former PSP member Ms. Kala Manickam&nbsp. &nbsp,

Mr. Lim added that he was “quite certain” that there wouldn’t be a three-cornered struggle in the district and that he would talk with RDU about the best candidate to run for in the SMC. &nbsp,

When questioned about where he would run in the upcoming vote, Mr. Lim replied that he was not going to reveal his intentions at the time.

” I may have in some places. I might have in Jalan Besar. I may be standing in Mountbatten, where I have really put in a lot of effort. He said,” I could have these in Potong Pasir and show you how active I’ve been.” &nbsp,

The last lineup will be chosen quite near to nomination day, I’ve given you three options.
