GE2025: Masagos introduces former Chief of Army David Neo as potential Tampines GRC candidate

Former Army Chief of Staff David Neo was introduced as a potential candidate for Tampines GRC on Saturday night ( Apr 12 ), but the minister did not confirm the lineup for the district’s upcoming general election.

Mr. Masagos was accompanied by the latest Tampines MPs and Mr. Neo and Charlene Chen as they addressed a Hari Raya musical at Our Tampines Hub.

Other than Mr. Masagos, senior minister of state Dr. Koh Poh Koon, the district’s mayor Desmond Choo, and top legislative secretary Baey Yam Keng are the current MPs.

Previous Tampines MP Cheng Li Hui resigned in 2023 as a result of an extramarital row with Tan Chuan-Jin, a fellow MP and former Speaker of Parliament.

Ms. Chen has been walking the floor with the minister since Mr. Masagos had previously introduced her as a grassroots innovator who may serve the residents of Ms. Cheng’s Tampines East hospital.

Mr. Masagos announced that Mr. Neo would” join our team” on Saturday.

” We hope the team’s final confirmation may be made quickly. David has remained close to us at this point. He said,” We’ve been introducing him to different parts of Tampines, following us on home appointments, and joining us at some events there.” &nbsp,

We’re pleased that he is touring and getting to know the locals.

Mr. Neo resigned as Army Chief in March, causing rumors that he would run for president in the 2025 General Election. He has been spotted in Tampines walking around with Mr. Baey.
