Stop fussy eating: How this frustrated mum transformed mealtimes with her specially designed plate for kids

When her child, Oia Tan, was four years old and breakfast would be a terrible experience, mother-of-one Rachel Raeburn recalls.

Oia was easily distracted and may take an hour to accomplish her meals, with the majority of times no finishing the items on her disk. She disliked gooey meals and green leafy vegetables with stems, according to the 49-year-old.

The owner of Relish PR, her public relations firm, may be pulling her hair out and trying to persuade Oia to complete her meal. The child is currently nine years old.

Supporting dishes on various colored plates also wasn’t helpful. Raeburn also noted that it was more difficult for younger children who are just learning to use a knife because many plates ‘ surfaces were straight.

” Usually, sheets don’t do anything to promote children to eat, other than to provide and include the food,” said Raeburn.

Yet, she did see that Oia may be motivated to eat when she counted down the number of tablespoons of food on the disk. She seemed to make an effort to chew and swallow her food in order to finish it, she said.
