GE2025: Potential PAP candidate Syed Harun hopes to ‘continue good work’ of Faishal Ibrahim in Nee Soon GRC

” Seeing Prof. Faishal win the hearts and minds of the Nee Quickly people, where it is very obvious that they will miss him dearly,” said Dr. Syed Harun, as a possible candidate, has been heartening for me.

” I hope to be able to continue his great work, build on the solid foundations that he has had, as well as build on the relationships that he has had with the people in particular, as well as the Malay Muslim community below, to be able to listen to their requirements, to be able to work with them, and to be able to further reinforce the bonds of cohesion within Nee Quickly GRC,” he said.

In light of rumors that he would be running for the general election, Dr. Syed Harun, 39, a consultant psychiatrist at the Starfish Clinic of Psychiatry & Mental Wellness, resigned from his NMP position on February 14.

Some former NMPs worried that his resignation, along with that of another NMP, Raj Joshua Thomas, might have stung the House’s view that their participation in politics under the banner of political parties might undermine the idea of non-partisanship during their time there. &nbsp,

In response to these questions, Mr. Shanmugam claimed that the Constitution “expressly allows” a former NMP to form a political party.

Beginning in March, Dr. Syed Harun and Mr. Shanmugam will be speaking at Nee Soon GRC community events.
