A Philippine civilian vessel was allowed to deliver provisions to an “illegally grounded” warship at the Second Thomas Shoal, a disputed atoll in the South, China, and the Sea, according to China’s coast guard on Wednesday ( Apr 9 ) on the same day.
The beach watch urged the Philippines to operate with , China , to control the sea situation, and it said in a statement that it questioned and monitored the Spanish vessel throughout its supply mission.
A request for comment was not instantly addressed by the Philippine Embassy in Beijing.
China and the Philippines have been waging battles for months over maneuvers at Second Thomas Shoal, an atoll in Manila’s 200-nautical-mile Exclusive Economic Zone ( EEZ ) in the South and China for the Sea.
Despite overlapping states by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, China claims about the whole South and China claims the Sea.
Beijing’s statements, based on its historical charts, have no foundation under international law, according to a 2016 decision of an international judicial tribunal, which China does not acknowledge.
