
The High Court on Tuesday ( Apr 8 ) held the trial of a woman who is accused of killing a 51-year-old man in a fight that lasted for almost four years.
On July 15, 2021, Nguyen Ngoc Giau, 43, is accused of killing Mr. Cho Wang Keung, 51, along Blk 562 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3’s fifth-story popular hall.  ,
The slender woman, who has shoulder-length hair and bangs, originally appeared expressionless as her charges were read over, but when video footage of the deceased was viewed in court began to cry wildly.  ,
WHAT HAPPENED 
The bereaved, a jewelry operator, held the three-bedroom HDB apartment at Blk 562 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. He rented out the other rooms for money and stayed in one of them. One of the rooms was rented to a man by the name of Tan Cheng Mun.  ,
Nguyen, a Taiwanese regional and permanent resident of Singapore, moved into the apartment as a client and reportedly slept in the living space at some point in July 2020.  ,
Around October 2020, the couple began sharing a room and started becoming emotionally involved.  ,
According to the jury, Mr. Cho and Nguyen had a falling away because he wanted to end her relationship with her and remove her from the property between July 12 and May 2021.  ,
She drank a number of cans of liquor between 12:20 p.m. on July 14, 2021 and 12:48 a.m. the following day, according to reports that she had frequently called Mr. Cho and called them, but they never got answers.  ,
According to the prosecution, she once sharpened a weapon she retrieved from the house.  ,
According to the agreed speech of information, Mr. Cho and Mr. Tan left the typical hallway behind the apartment on Jul. 15, 2021, at around 12:50 am.  ,
Mr. Cho and Nguyen engaged in a fight two days afterwards. Mr. Tan called the police during the altercation.
The woman claimed that Nguyen then attacked Mr. Cho with the knife she had previously sharpened and then went up into the flat.
Benedict Teong, the assistant public prosecutor, said that Nguyen turned her attention to Mr. Tan when she learned that he was photographing her assaulting him, and that he flung down the stairs.
When the officers arrived at around 1.03 a.m., they discovered the accused and deceased in a pool of blood along the popular corridor outside the apartment. At 1.08 and 1.18, between, doctors showed up.  ,

The prosecution stated at the trial’s beginning that it would depend on the witnesses ‘ conditional statements and an agreed statement of facts.
Additionally, it will use the accused’s nine remarks and videotape, including those taken from the accused’s cellular phone.
On Tuesday, the jury heard testimony from Mr. Tan, a former neighbor who once resided in the apartment opposite the few, and a former neighbor.
Mr. Tan’s statement, which the prosecution read over, claimed that he had been friends with the dying for about four years and moved into Mr. Cho’s apartment in March 2020.  ,
He claimed that the accused moved in as a client at some point in July 2020 and later became Mr. Cho’s girl and began sharing a chamber with him.  ,
When Mr. Tan started to doubt whether Mr. Cho and various ladies were dating at the beginning of August 2020, she started to doubt him.  ,
She would use his phone to talk to the bereaved and engage in argumentation, he said, adding that she would also hit him.  ,
Mr. Tan claimed in his speech on July 14, 2021, that the deceased had spoken to him about wanting to break up with the accused but that she would always need a “break-up price” of between S$ 5, 000 and S$ 10, 000 when they had refreshments with him at a coffee shop in Bishan.  ,
He claimed that Nguyen began questioning Mr. Cho about where he was going and where he had been drinking after they left after nightfall.  ,
Video footage that Mr. Cho and Mr. Tan were seen standing close to the pull when she asked Mr. Cho where he had been drinking was captured by Nguyen for playback in court.  ,

Mr. Tan claimed that he was aware that Mr. Cho was married to another Taiwanese woman when he moved into the level in March 2020 during the defense’s cross-examination of Mr. Tan. If he was still married to her at the time of his dying, it was not mentioned.  ,
The girl and her child had already been residing in Mr. Cho’s level when he moved into it, but Mr. Tan claimed that they had already moved out of the building in June 2020, one month before Nguyen moved in.  ,
Mr. Cho and his family allegedly argued about the baby while they were living together and the police were called to the residence.  ,
Mr. Tan, who was sleeping immediately in front of the place where they were sharing, said they would say in their room at least twice a month and that it would usually begin after they drank liquor.  ,
According to Mr. Tan, there were also instances when disagreements turned into confrontations.
Mr. Tan said the pair fought at the space balcony of their apartment about two to three months before Mr. Cho’s passing, and the police both arrested them. He continued,” He made it known that Mr. Cho was being investigated for affray.”
