
Following a powerful earthquake in Myanmar that shook Bangkok and other parts of Thailand on Friday, Airports of Thailand Plc ( AoT ) confirmed that the structural integrity of its six international airports and aviation infrastructure adheres to safety standards.
According to the aircraft operator on the SET-listed list, the six flights resumed normal operations on Friday at 2.30pm.
AOT announced the implementation of checks at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai flights, confirming their structural integrity in a speech posted on its official Facebook page on Friday and Saturday.
On Saturday, AOT President Kerati Kijmanawat informed the permanent secretary for international affairs that aircraft services would resume.
Important facilities, such as customer terminals, apron, runways, taxiways, piers, aerobridges, and support systems, have been thoroughly examined.
He confirmed that the six terminals are operating safely in accordance with international standards for service quality, safety, and aircraft health.
Following the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand ( CAAT ) announced on Friday that all flights into and out of Bangkok were resumed normally.
