The High Court on Friday ( Mar 28 ) handed down a man who repeatedly sexually abused his stepdaughter when she was between the ages of 13 and 14 to receive 25 years in prison and the maximum of 24 cane strokes.

The 30-year-old male denied having any sexual relations with her and claimed test to eight counts of murder, including two counts of sexual abuse involving penetration.

On February 26, he was found guilty of five counts of murder and two counts of sexual abuse by insertion, but he was spared of the second charge of rape. &nbsp,

WHAT HAPPENED

The target and her family lived in a one-room apartment until the end of 2017 or 2018, according to court records. In 2020, he wed the defendant’s mother. &nbsp,

The target perceived the survivor as a father figure, and the man and the sufferer were close friends. &nbsp,

When the survivor was alone in the level at the time of the sexual assault, he sexually assaulted her, who was then 13 years old, in March 2021.

On at least five more times, he continued to sexually abuse her. He was 26 years old at the time of the instances.

According to court records, he would wait for his wife to leave the house before sexually assaulting the victim, which would typically take place on Saturday evenings or during the school vacations, when the defendant’s woman would be at work.

When the survivor told two of her school associates about the physical attack, more information about the physical assaults surfaced in late September 2021.

The accused showed not one iota of regret after the victim finally found the courage to report what was happening, making clear that she was a liar with a motive to frame him and making blatantly false accusations against several Singapore Police Force officers.
