Six Thai citizens have been detained in Hua Hin on suspicion of running a site for a significant gambling community that has received more than 8 million baht in the last eight weeks.
On Saturday, police from the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB ) launched the” Operation Hua Hin Strike” in three locations in the beach town of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, and they detained the website’s operators connected to the LAVAMAX1688 gambling network, which has over 1, 000 members.
Some of the detained admitted to receiving 12, 000 baht per month to respond to customer inquiries via online chat, while another controlled records and gave payments to gamblers.
During the procedure, banks account records and computers were also seized.
The site had been operational for about eight weeks and had helped to facilitate transactions totaling over 8 million baht, according to police.
