Provincial Police Region 8 has been given the order to investigate a policeman commander who was found to be cheating in an administrative judge selection exercise.
According to Pol Lt Gen Archayon Kraithong, a spokeswoman for the police, the colonel had become suspended from work or even expelled from the army if an official inspection finds him innocent of cheating.
Cheating in an investigation is regarded as a severe disciplinary crime because it tarnishes the popularity of the Royal Thai Police, according to the official.
The RTP did immediately discipline the commander, which may also function as a warning to other soldiers, the official said.
The jury reported yesterday that the commander, whose name was not made public, had brought a cheat sheet with information about the law into the Thammasat University Rangsit school in Pathum Thani on Saturday to the location of the selection of new magistrates for the Administrative Court of First Instance.
The captain was spotted looking at the bribe sheet and using the knowledge to answer the questions on the test, it added.
The official was given the ultimatum to leave the room so that the instructors could question him right away.
The official admitted to cheating during the interview, according to Pol Lt Gen Archayon.
He is a police commander serving as the operational division’s deputy chief at the Provincial Police Region 8 in Bali, according to the Royal Thai Police, who merely identified him. Additionally, he had been given the support of the Nakhon Si Thammarat office of the Internal Security Operations Command ( Isoc ) Region 4.
The captain may get asked to explain the justification for the temporary transfer to the Isoc company and whether he had requested written permission to leave the office to take the test.
