
A , 57-year-old man will be charged in court on Monday ( Mar 17 ) for allegedly verbally abuse an airline employee and causing destruction of property at Changi Airport.
According to authorities, on Sunday, a man allegedly yelled abuse at a female flight employee in a gate hold room and damaged a wall in the terminal 3 before being called in by the authorities on March 8.
After boarding the plane for his journey from Singapore to London, the British gentleman realized he had lost his phone .
He then left the plane, hoping to find it in the airport lounge where he had before sat, read the news transfer.
A female flight employee at the doorway hold room helped him with a phone search and informed him that no one had found it in the aircraft lounge.
She informed him that leaving the wall hold area may result in him being offloaded from the journey because it was close to the flight’s scheduled departure time.
The guy then reportedly responded with” a slew of abusive and insulting words,” according to authorities.
He “kicked and damaged a walls section of the aerobridge” as he “walked away from the aircraft.”
Officials from the Airport Police Division were called in after the person was later offloaded from his flight, according to authorities.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police M Malathi,” Any kind of abuse or abusive behavior toward airport or airline staff is certainly tolerated because it disrupts operations and puts the employees at risk by failing to perform their duties effectively.”
The airport authorities division’s chief continued,” The policeman take such deeds seriously and will not hesitate to take action against those who do so.”
The man is subject to a fine of up to S$ 5, 000 ( US$ 3, 700 ), a jail term of no more than six months, or both for using abusive language against someone.
He faces a two-year prison sentence, a great, or both for evil and property destruction.
