‘Filled with arrogance’: China lashes out at G7 over statements on maritime security

China responded to allegations in a joint statement from top diplomats from the Group of Seven industrialized democracies that they “are filled with arrogance, prejudice, and malicious intentions” on Saturday ( Mar 15 ).

The G7 reaffirmed that” we condemn China’s illicit, provocative, aggressive, and dangerous actions that unilaterally seek to undermine the balance of regions, including through land reclamations, and their use for military purposes.”

The speech made reference to the vital waterway separating China from the self-governing area republic it claims as its own territory and stressed the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait as vital to global security and prosperity.

China claimed in the comment issued through its official in Canada, where the two-day G7 summit was held in La Malbaie, Quebec, that the affirmation “repeated the same old rhetoric, ignored facts, and China’s grave position, greatly interfered in China’s domestic affairs, and plainly smeared China.”

” The remarks reflect China’s repression, prejudice, and malicious motives,” the statement states. China” highly deplores and opposes this and has solemnly made images with the French side,” the speech said.
