
Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, collapsed on Saturday ( Mar 15 ), killing at least five people, according to officials.
Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit reported that 24 other people were hurt at the building page as a result of the collapse, which took place in southwest Bangkok in the early morning.
Suriya expressed his condolences and said contractors and other relevant organizations may pay the victims.
He claimed that no road users were hurt by the company’s negligence because traffic lanes were shut down close to the design at the time.
Siam Boonsom, the police commander in Bangkok, stated that authorities were also conducting an investigation into the collapse and would file legal action against those who had been found liable.
Big metal and concrete structures fell to the ground, completely blocking the road, according to photos taken at the location.
According to venture data published on the website of the Expressway Authority of Thailand, design of the 5 km road bridge began in 2022.
Surachet Laophulsuk, the agency’s government, stated that they were working as quickly as possible to clean the dirt, but he speculated that it might take a week. He added that the project’s companies were given 14-day suspensions while the research was being conducted.
