Trump nominates Anji Sinha as US ambassador to Singapore

SINGAPORE: US President Donald Trump has named businessman Dr Anji Sinha as his nomination to be the country’s embassy to Singapore.

In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday ( Mar 11 ), Mr Trump said:” Anji is a highly respected entrepreneur, with an incredible family.

” The United States ‘ connection with Singapore is important, and I have no fear that Anji will clearly indicate our nation’s interests, and put America first. ” &nbsp,

Dr Sinha is somewhat little known, with no appearance on blogs or social media.

The visit of Dr Sinha is subject to confirmation by the Senate.

The cheerful US ambassador to Singapore, Mr Jonathan Kaplan, was appointed by former leader Joe Biden in July 2021.

During Mr Trump’s second president, the military in Singapore was led by a Charged’Affaires.

He had first nominated Ms K T McFarland in May 2017 to be the US embassy to Singapore, but she withdrew from account in February 2018 after her election stalled in the Senate. &nbsp,

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee said finally that her election had been delayed due to concerns about her testimony to Congress over connections with Russia.
