Russian arrested on Phangan after complaints about his behaviour

Sola THANI- A Belarusian man has been arrested and charged with working fraudulently and drug use after another tourists visiting Phangan island complained about his explicit swaggering.

The charges were laid by tourists police following a research of the store where 27-year-old Vladislav Klenov was working on Sunday night.

Guests on the island had complained to police about the threat posed by his optimist behavior. This included showing off pictures of himself wearing a police military vest and holding a shotgun, Pol Lt Pol Vinit Boonchit said.

A search of the store where he worked selling cannabis materials found an air weapons, handcuffs, a police coat and a quantity of methamphetamine, authorities did not say how much, in a plastic carrier.

Pol Lt Pol Vinit said Mr Klenov was charged with working fraudulently and with use of an illicit substance.

Mr Klenov allegedly admitted to working at the store in trade for free accommodation. He said he received 17 % of the income earned from selling cannabis products to customers, according to Pol Lt Pol Vinit.

He may be answerable to a fine of up to 20, 000 ringgit and/or one year in prison if found guilty in the drug situation.
