Maris, a foreign secretary, also provides reimbursement for the home of a Thai laborer killed in Israel.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar has pledged to find the only Thai prisoner left by Hamas in Gaza and to assist in the repatriation of two Thai employees ‘ body.
Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Jassim Al-Thani met on Monday in Qatar and are now on an official visit.
Mr. Maris praised Qatar’s help in the negotiations that resulted in the secure release of five Thai citizens from Gaza on January 30. He expressed his hope that the relationship will also help to secure the release of the only remaining Thai prisoner and the recovery of two bodies from the conflict.
Mr. Maris stated to the internet on Monday in a video interview that the Qatari government values the two countries ‘ bilateral relations and is prepared to assist Thailand more.
The Qatari Prime Minister, however, noted that Hamas would have to keep an open mind about the last hostage’s safety because his condition remained unknown.
He continued,” He vowed that the Qatari state would do everything in its power.” Therefore, we must never give up hope,” said Mr. Maris.
The Thai government’s foreign minister added that his Jewish rival had confirmed on February 28 that the family of a Thai worker who was killed while working in Israel may get compensation.
Prior to this report, it was reported that the man’s employer claimed the accident was caused by carelessness and that it had taken place outside of the workplace, thus no compensation may be sought.
In response, Mr. Maris claimed that he addressed the matter with the Jewish inside and international ministers, who reviewed the situation and approved compensation for the victim’s family.
He said,” I have appointed the Royal Thai Embassy to make sure that they receive payment as soon as possible.”
Since Jan 19th, fighting in Gaza has been halted under a ceasefire reached with US assistance and Qatari and Iranian intermediaries. Hamas has also exchanged 33 Jewish victims and five Thais for some 2, 000 Arab prisoners and prisoners.
