Singaporean woman killed in Spain: DNA from two men found on victim’s clothes

WHAT HAPPENED

Ms. Fang’s body was discovered close to a parking lot for vehicles in the area of Abanilla on April 10, 2024, while she was traveling alone in Spain. &nbsp,

According to a preliminary examination record, it was determined that her death was caused by knife wounds and head trauma.

On April 9, 2024, close-circuit tv devices at the resort where he was staying caught him leaving wearing a sweater and black trousers at around 5.45pm. &nbsp,

Earlier, La Verdad, a local news website, quoted prosecution as saying that Ong drove Ms Fang to a parking lot close to a restaurant in Abanilla at around 11pm on April 9 and the vehicle left at 11:45pm.

According to the review, the prosecution believes that Ms. Fang was no more inside the vehicle when it left the parking lot.

Ong reconnected with the hotel on April 10th, around 2 a.m., wearing jeans and a blue shirt.

According to local news Levante El Mercantil Valenciano, Spanish authorities have established that Ong and Ms Fang’s cell phones were both present in Abanilla at the time of her death.

Based on data provided by cellular phone users in Abanilla, it is “without a fear” that both Singaporeans were in the same place and at the same time on the day the crime was committed.

About six months prior to Ong’s passing, he was made a beneficiary of her Central Provident Fund ( CPF), a required social security savings account, which he had known for more than ten years. &nbsp,

Nearly S$ 240, 000 ( US$ 248, 000 ) was deposited into her Pension consideration at the time Ms Fang nominated Ong as her benefactor. &nbsp,

Mr. Manuel Martinez, the attorney for Ms. Fang’s family, previously claimed that the 39-year-old’s CPF account had more than € 430, 000 ( US$ 462, 000 ).

Ong was charged with murder in February, according to La Verdard, with the secret trial claiming there was” ample evidence of criminality” to take him to trial. &nbsp,

However, the defense requested that the case been dropped and demanded that new trials, including an independent review of Ong’s telephone and his own witness.

Ong’s attorney argued that different tests were required in the case, and that Ong has lost touch with his community. &nbsp,
