Justice Minister Tawee Sodsong stated that the Department of Special Investigation’s ( DSI) special cases board will make an announcement on Thursday regarding the start of an investigation into alleged collusion in the Senate election of last year.

The table, which is led by Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, was scheduled to make a decision on Tuesday, but it was postponed so that it could be reviewed.

While declining to comment on the outcome, board member and Pol Col Tawee claimed that there is substantial further proof that the internet has not yet been included. &nbsp,

The secretary was referring to a list of 1,200 names shared among lawmakers on Sunday.

The names of the legislators and prospects who will be called in as witnesses in the case are said to be on the list.

The document was discovered on the day of the Senate vote at Muang Thong Thani property in Nonthaburi state, where the round of last, national-level voting for senators was held, according to Pol Col Tawee on Monday. The DSI did never leaked it, but it was on the day of the round of last, national-level voting for senators.

He added that being included in the listing does not imply that those individuals have engaged in collusion or acted in a criminal offense.

Pol Maj Gen Woranan Srilam, a spokeswoman for DSI, said the organization was aware of the file being made available but that it was not the DS I’s fault.

Pol Col Tawee downplayed the Council of State’s ( CoS ) concerns regarding DS I’s authority to investigate.

He claimed that” The CoS was speaking in theory about non-interference of separate common companies.”

Ask for a probe, or a plea

He also refrained from launching a Senate petition calling for the DSI chief and himself to be investigated for allegedly abusing their position of authority in the Senate election research, insisting that the DS I’s action was not politically motivated.

Prior to that, Pol Col Tawee claimed that the DSI may handle some of the complaints involving criminal offenses listed under the Criminal Code.

On Monday, a group of unsuccessful candidates requested from parliament president Wan Muhamad Noor Matha to build an ethics investigation against the lawmakers who wanted Pol Col Tawee to be removed from office.

They asserted that the senators ‘ action might obstruct the DS I’s investigation into vote fixing.

In a related development, the Senate is expected to consider a movement on justice supervision and protection on Tuesday.

Sen Chattawat Saengphet’s activity, allegedly centered on the responsibilities of the Justice Ministry and the DSI in the face of criticism for handling high-profile situations.
