Muslims in Singapore to mark start of Ramadan on Mar 2

Muslims in Singapore will begin the holy month of Ramadan on Sunday ( Mar 2 )

The Mufti of Singapore made the announcement of the time by noting that, according to celestial calculations ; at dusk on Friday night or 29 Syaaban, The sun was positioned at a 5 square range. 4 degree at an altitude of 4 3 deg.

These calculations do not adhere to the imkanur rukyah standards set forth by the member nations of MABIMS ( Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore ).

The pendant for the month of Ramadan is improbable to be seen above Singapore’s sky when the sun sets on Friday night, according to the Mufti, Dr. Nazirudin Mohd Nasir.

According to the Islamic lunar calendar, the new moon’s sight will mark the beginning of Ramadan.

So, Saturday marks the 30th day and the end of Syaaban’s quarter.

The first day of the month’s Ramadan fast falls on the day after tomorrow, Sunday, March 2, 2025,” I am pleased to announce,” Dr. Nazirudin said.

I want to wish all Muslims in Singapore a happy Ramadan on this occasion.

” May we take advantage of this wonderful month to increase our great activities, and may God grant the Muslim community in Singapore His allegiance and mercy.” “
