Lai’s business condemned the maneuvers, but said the authorities had a “full knowledge” of the condition and people may rest assured.

Earlier on Wednesday, China’s standard Xinhua news agency said the ruling Communist Party’s third ranked head, Wang Huning, had called this week for greater energy in the cause of Taiwanese “reunification”.
China has “firmly understanding the right to occupy and take the initiative in cross-strait relationships,” Wang was quoted as saying at a work-related annual meeting in Taiwan.
