Nude school Batman ‘probably a teacher’

According to the Education Ministry, a fact-finding investigation will be launched in response to concerns that a person, who is thought to be a professor, was spotted posing in a Batman face at a Uthai Thani class.

The Office of the Basic Education Commission ( Obec) was taking action, said Tee Pawangkanant, deputy secretary-general of the commission, after pictures and video clips of the man were circulated on social media.

Complaints by families were presented to Mr Tee by social media environmentalist Guntouch Pongpaiboonwet, who also goes by the nickname Gun Jom Palang, on Monday.

Mr Guntouch said the gentleman posed for photos in different settings, including in schools.

He called on the school chairman to act quickly to resolve the problem and described the incident as shocking.

The activist claimed that the director had instructed students to dismiss the incident at a day assembly in the school courtyard. The director also warned that everyone contacting authorities about it would experience consequences.

However, Mr. Tee claimed that Thanu Wongchinda, the Obec secretary-general, had been informed of the complaints and that the regional training area office may soon launch a fact-finding analysis. The male posing in nude is most likely a pupil there. If the situation is proven successful, he may experience a disciplinary investigation and possible dismissal.

Mr. Tee added that he has not spoken to the university chairman, who will also be subject to inquiries regarding the alleged risk to students to remain silent about the incident.
