Phuket police arrest armed extortionists in van outside hotel

Asian victims were both free and unharmed.

Bali- Four men were detained in a van outside a resort in the Muang district while supposedly trying to extort money from two Asian men at gunpoint. &nbsp,

The reported victims were freed unharmed and the alleged fraudsters, three Thai people and a stranger, were taken into custody. The police withheld the titles and additional details of the alleged fraudsters.

In front of the Khao Rang Place resort in tambon Lad Yai, a group of officers led by Pol Phuket police chief Pol Maj Gen Sinlert Sukhum conducted the arrests.

At 11.26 p.m. on Saturday, they responded to rumors that four men with guns had forced two Asian men to enter a Ford truck in front of the resort.

Facts were made public by Muang authorities on Monday.

The arresting group reported finding two Taiwanese people, Van Trung Phan, 40, and Quang Minh Nguyen, 21, inside the vehicle, along with the four reported fraudsters. The four accused people were taken to Muang authorities place for legal action after allegedly stealing three firearms.
