
The Social Security Office’s ( SSO ) spending, which includes first-class tickets, an 850-million-baht web app and 450 million baht to produce calendars, is facing a barrage of public criticism.
The problem came to light after People’s Party Bangkok MP, Rukchanok Srinork, a member of the House committee tracking budget planning and wasting, released details about a 2.2-million-baht trip abroad by SSO officials and its 100-million-baht monthly line price.
A six-day, five-night vacation for 10 people included two 160, 000 ringgit first-class air cards, 16, 000 baht per day for a five-star hotel in Japan and 35, 000 ringgit per person for travel, the panel said.
Another costly expenses include about 850 million baht for the development of a web-based software and a 450-million-baht resources over eight ages, mostly to finance purchasing plans, according to the council.
Bloggers who complained about the company’s astronomical travel costs and the production of schedules meant to be distributed to people have reacted in kind. Many questioned the causes for the SSO’s visits to Britain.
Some people called for the dismissal of high-ranking politicians and officials due to alleged incompetence, while people called for calendars they previously received.
Boonsong Thapchaiyuth, lasting secretary of labor, added that everything was in order. According to him, the SSO’s web app development is compliant with the Public Procurement and Supplies Management Act.
He claimed that all budgetary and recruitment decisions are made in accordance with legal guidelines, with spending decisions made by related subcommittees, working groups, and the Social Security Board.
He added that a 66 % budget boost over four years was attributable to a 850 million baht budget increase for the improvement of the online game.
