Altantuya’s murder: Malaysia court orders government, former political analyst to pay US$2.1 million in damages pending appeal

The Malaysian government, Abdul Razak, and two former Unique Steps System officers, Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar, were jointly responsible for Altantuya’s death in 2006, according to a 2022 court report. &nbsp,

The High Court mandated that they pay RM5 million in restitution for her death. &nbsp,

Because both the Malaysian authorities and Abdul Razak are contesting the 2022 decision, Altantuya’s family next requested that the judgment been enforced. &nbsp,

According to testimony in Altantuya’s murder trial, the unit had worked with Abdul Razak as a speaker in relation to Malaysia’s 2002 order of ships from a European state-owned business. &nbsp,

Najib served as the defense minister at the time, according to Bloomberg, while Abdul Razak was the one who brokered the package. &nbsp,

On October 18, 2006, in a remote area near the Subang Dam in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam, Altantuya was tragically shot by Azilah and Sirul in a highly regarded crime case. Her system was then blown up with military-grade C4 bombs. &nbsp,

Azilah and Sirul were found guilty and given the death penalty for her death. &nbsp,

In October last year, the Federal Court reduced Azilah’s death sentence to a prison term of 40 times and 12 stroke of wood. Altantuya’s papa- Shaariibuu- had written a text in support of Azilah’s program.
