The secretary further explained that the convicted murderer had just received a sentence in the UK for his crimes in Sinaga’s event. Under the country’s legal system, criminals have to serve at least 30 years in prison before they can apply for a lowered word.  ,
” So, ( Sinaga’s ) repatriation is not a priority that must be addressed immediately”, he said.  ,
And Mahendra mentioned how the Indonesian government has requested that the United States move the boy’s trial forward.
Hambali has been imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay, a US defense compound in Cuba, for more than 20 years without a test.  ,  ,
” But until now, there has been no test. On one hand, there is a human rights problem and another, there is. We have not had a fairly detailed discussion about Hambali’s repatriation”, said Mahendra.  ,
However, the minister stressed that the government’s target for now is on cases involving Indonesian immigrant workers overseas.
