Ong, who is Indonesian but based in Singapore, was handed two charges related to Iswaran on Oct 4 next year.  ,
The first charge accuses him of aiding the former minister in getting an all-expenses-priced trip to Doha worth about S$ 20, 850 ( US$$ 15, 500 ) in December 2022.
The additional cost contends that Ong consciously assisted Iswaran in May of that year when the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau began its investigation by paying S$ 5,700 to Singapore GP for a business school flight seat from Doha to Singapore on the same route.  ,
These offenses are related to Iswaran’s two plea deals. The former chancellor was sentenced to 12 months in jail , on Oct 3 last month. He was moved to home detention on Friday ( Feb 7 ), and four days later, he began his jail term.
With no word on whether Ong will plead guilty or challenge the charges, Ong’s case is still at the pre-trial meeting phase.  , A pre-trial event refers to an administrative reading held in halls.  ,
In order for the defense to examine its position, his most recent pre-trial hearing on Friday was postponed until February 28.  ,
Court documents also show that Ong has been given a comment to images, and that his loan has been extended.  ,
Following his accusations, Ong requested permission to travel to London and the United States for health care. Although the nature of his situation was not disclosed in court at the time, the software was approved on October 30.  ,
If convicted of abetting Iswaran under Section 165 of the Penal Code, Ong may face up to two years in prison, a good, or both. The obstruction of justice cost under Part 204A carries a prison term of up to , seven times, a great, or both.
