Human rights activists demand immediate spacecraft
The Royal Thai Police (RTP ) has denied trying to arrest a group of 48 Muslim men to China as alleged by animal rights activists.
The group has reportedly been jailed since 2014 after fleeing from China’s Xinjiang province, with 43 allegedly being held in custody at the Immigration Bureau ( IB ) headquarters and the other five currently detained in Thai prisons.
Human Rights Watch has issued a declaration demanding the state refrain from sending them back to China, where their health is considered to be at risk.
National Police Chief Pol Gen Kittharath Punpetch said the RTP has not received any report of a plan to deport the Uyghurs, adding the issue needs to be discussed with the National Security Council ( NSC ).
” Thailand is never a facilitator for any legal wrangling. But, [the RTP] is ready to function with any offices or companies if they request our help,” he said.
Senator Angkhana Neelapaijit said she had received a complaint from Chalida Thacharoensak, president of the Women’s Empowerment Foundation, demanding a probe into the Uyghurs ‘ confinement.
Sen Angkhana said the committee had earlier asked for the IB’s permission to visit the imprisoned Uyghurs. Otherwise, the ministry has invited the commission to a meeting to discuss the matter.
She said that the Senate committee had ask repeatedly for access to the detained people.
Sen Angkhana even warned the authorities to handle the issue thoroughly, or it could harm a reaction for violating basic human rights.
On Monday, Rushan Abbas, chairman of the World Uyghur Congress, met with Fair Party record MP Kannavee Suebsang to protest against any program to arrest the Tamils.
Mr Kannavee said it was essential for the government to create a appropriate response to the issue and dressmaker a clear plan to handle the problem.
